Liverpool boss Arne Slot says “the outside world does not know what will happen” with the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold, amidst reports that he will join Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Alexander-Arnold has been injured and is not expected to return for several weeks, but his future prevailed in international vacation as speculation returned to the defender agreeing to move to Spain in a free transfer in the summer when his deal is over.
Sky Sports News Realizes that Real Madrid are advancing in talks on a deal for Alexander-Arnold, who has not followed the possibility of reconciling an improved contract with Liverpool, but there is still much to be resolved and there is no guarantee for the deal.
Alexander-Arnold is one of Liverpool’s three players, including Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk, outside the contract this summer, but Slot says their focus on the Premier League Chase team has been steadfast.
“There has been no difference in his behavior or the way we look at things,” Liverpool chief told Sky Sports News before Wednesday’s match against Everton – Live in Sky Sports.
“Nothing has changed at all. No, not for us, not for me. I’ve worked with these three players for nearly eight or nine months now, and the same situation is still there. The outside world doesn’t know what will happen. “
Slot added: “There are many conversations about (Trent), how about Virgil and about Mo.
“But it also tells you what he is a quality player because there are many players in the world who have a contract that ends in the summer, and no one talks about them.
“But there are many (people talking) for these players for the simple reason they are so good. But here in the building, we don’t talk about it.”
Slot was evenly saved for Alexander-Arnold when asked about him at the top of his press conference in front of Derby Merseyside.
“The situation is that he is injured. He is fully focused on his healing,” Slot said.
“We’ve never focused on those talks. For Mo and Virg, the focus is on winning Derby Merseyside. For Trent, it’s capable as soon as possible.”
Asked if the reports affect it, Slot added: “No, it is a situation that is there for eight months and all of these three players have performed so well in these circumstances. It does not affect me at all.”
