The boss of the Republic of Ireland, Heimir Hallgrimsson has remembered goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu in his team before the next week’s Play-offs of nations against Bulgaria.
The 23-year-old Southampton player, who is currently borrowed with Belgian Standard Liege, had set himself like Ireland No. 1 under previous boss Stephen Kenny, but has not played for his country since March last year after suffering a serious Achilles injury.
He will renovate his battle with Liverpool’s Caoimhín Kelleher for a place in the team after Hallgrimsson takes a first chance to appreciate it.
Hallgrimsson has submitted the first old calls to the Watford James Abankwah and Rocco Vata’s duet at 23 men for the two -legged promotion/removal of next week.
Defendant Abankwah, 21, is currently borrowed in Vicarage Road from Udinese, while 19-year-old Frontman Vata has three goals of the Sky Bet championship for his name to date.
They have been joined by 27-year-old QPR Jimmy Dunne, who will hope for high debut, and Bristol City Sinclair Armstrong striker, who first returns from winning a surprise lid as a late replacement in a Euro 2024 qualifier against the Dutch in September 2023.
Southampton’s midfielder Will Smallbone has returned after returning to action after a hamstring injury, while Mark Sykes of Bristol City also takes the knot for the first time under Hallgrimson.
Ireland, which ended third after England and Greece in League B2, traveled to Plovdiv on March 20 and then welcomes the C3 Bulgarian League runners in Bulgaria in Aviva Stadium three days later, while trying to provide their second -level status.
