Ludwig åberg hit a stunning hole in a third third to lower two shocks from leader Patrick Rodgers going to the last round of the Invitational Genesis in San Diego.
Rodgers shot a fourth under 68 on Saturday to make a money of Denny McCarthy – both hoping to become the first time winners in PGA Tour – with åberg One of Sweden further in six under.
Åberg said of his acen in the third hole 140-yore: “It was a really delightful moment. I’ve never made a hole in a game in the tournament before.”
England’s Tommy Fleetwood is among the four players still hunting in four under, along with Patrick Cantlay, Davis Thompson and Tony Finau, who scored the low round of day 67.
Rory Mcilroy and World No 1 Scottie Scheffler are still ready in quarrel, five shocks in three under the two ended the disappointing third rounds.
Scheffler made Bogeys in both par-penal holes in the nine front and doubled the 14th and 14th as part of his four-on 76, while Mcilroy shot 74.
