Hearts defender Jamie McCart scored two goals to push Rangers in a 3-1 win at Tynecastle Park.
The Rangers boss, Phillipe Clement called for a 1-0 loss to the Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup last weekend and took exactly it as the McCart disaster and the 10th goal of Vaclav Cerny of the league campaign visitors towards victory.
The Ianis Hagi cross joined the back of the net from McCart in the 20th minute, but the hosts reacted well to go back and eventually found their draw through the new signature Michael Steinwender, who looked at James Penrice’s corner to level the scoreline line immediately after restart (49).
“Rangers are in the ropes,” said Sports Sky ‘ Neil McCann shortly after the goal entered, but despite being accurate at the time, it was visitors who would recover the lead through Cerny (61) before McCart’s second attempt at his net, put rangers out of the minute of the minute 73.
Despite addressing their short -term problems, the Celtic gap still sits at a scary 13 points after a disappointing campaign for Gers – which is a situation Sports Sky ‘ Kris Boyd labeled “not good enough” before a ball was hit.
Boyd: Fans are made with Clement
Sky Sports’ Kris Boyd:
“If they had acted on Monday, it was exciting. Far from the house it was terrible and you are 16 points after Celtic after you have already beaten them.
“Europe is a bonus and your bread and your butter is the league. It has not been as good as it should. Clement has had money to spend.
“You can do the excuses, but it has not been so good. When you look at the rangers last season, they should have won the league. They threw it.
“To me, this is just as bad as everything. There seems to be a second best acceptance. Steven Gerrard, you felt the players had full confidence in it.
“Sometimes you have to be told the truth. It has not been so good (under the clement). I can figure out why they don’t want a managerial change, but fans have had plenty of Clement.
“Most fans have been done. It”s short and done!”
Disaster for McCart! Two of its own goals …
Clement: We asked for a reaction
Rangers chief Philippe Clement Talking about Sky Sports:
“We asked for a reaction from all of us. The team loved it and showed it clearly. It was an open game and one all enjoyed to watch. Hard place to come and win. Scoring three goals, there are many positive points.
“They had their goalkeeper to thank too. It was a difficult game, they hadn’t lost in the last eight games, so to come here and win is important.
“It wasn’t our best game of the season. We played better games, but to win is the most important thing. We have to continue digging inside, with the whole team together, to get points. This It’s what everyone wants ”
Critchley: We were the best team
Heart chief Neil Critchley Talking about Sky Sports:
“I’m scratching my head, 3-1 is not a fair reflection of the game. The result doesn’t tell the story, we were the best team. We had more ball and more chances, but just didn’t get them, We then punished at the other end.
“I saw so much positive from the game. We played on the front leg and looked like the team I want to be, just not clinics.
“We defended, raced and spent well, but lacked that little quality at the last moment. It is a funny feeling as I am satisfied with the way we played, but obviously disappointed out of a 3-1 score . “
