Tottenham midfielder James Maddison will lose the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
Maddison suffered damage during last Thursday’s Europa League semi-final victory in the first leg of Bodo/Glimt after scoring Tottenham’s second goal in 3-1 win.
Is a second injury to the end of the season within a week for spurs, which also lost the midfielder Lcas bergvall to a foot injury caught in training.
Due injuries are a big blow to the Spurs chief of the Spurs Ange Postecoglou before Thursday’s second match in Norway, and a possible Europa League final this month later.
Speaking on the eve of Tottenham’s game with Bodo/Glimt, Postecoglou confirmed that Maddison will not play this term again.
“Madders torn his knee in the first game. He’s out. He will lose the rest of the season,” Postecoglou said.
“It is disappointing for him more than anything else because he has been a great catalyst for us.
“He lacks, but this has been a constant of our season that deals with these things. We (just have to overcome) it.”
Postecoglou had initially revealed after Sunday 1-1 draw in West Ham that Maddison’s injury seemed to be more serious than it was thought for the first time.
Australian said at his post -match press conference: “It doesn’t look great, but we are simply waiting for further information, so we will just wait and see. We will surely get a clarity tomorrow (Monday).
“It is right to say that it doesn’t look promising, but I will simply wait and see.”
Solenke set to be suitable for the second leg Bodo/Glimt
There was more encouraging news, however, from Postecoglou to the attacker Solarian After drawing Sunday’s Premier League in West Ham.
International International, England, fled to the first home win over Bodo/Gllimt last week and left out for a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium.
But Postecoglou played the 27-year-old’s injury and expects him to appear in the second match this week in Norway.
Australian said at his post -match press conference: “Improvement of Dom.
“We left it today, but the medical team is quite sure he should be good for Thursday.”
If the Spurs crosses the Norwegian champions on Thursday, then a possible all-English final against Manchester United hosts them in Bilbao on May 21.
It would give the Postecoglou side the opportunity to end their 17-year-old trophy drought and qualify for next season’s Champions League.
