Jannik Sinner only dropped a game to reserve his country in the Italian semifinal Open with an overwhelming loss of Casper Ruud.
The sinner, again in action this week for the first time since the January Australian Open victory after a three-month doping stop, without Ruud 6-0 6-1 in just 63 minutes.
Asked how close his victory was to perfection, the sinner said: “It is difficult to say, but I felt good in court and we all saw him.
“My goal this week is to understand where my level is, and it has increased day by day. Everything can change within a day, and a show does not tell you everything about my form at the moment, but I am very happy. I was moved well to trial.”
Paul in the final behind the truck trouble
Sinner will now face Tommy Paul after the 11th American seed made it in the last four in Rome for the second year in a row, beating Hubert Hurkacz, Poland 7-6 (4) 6-3.
But Paul’s mind was not fully in tennis, with the 27-year-old telling reporters afterwards that his truck was reprinted.
He said: “In court everything has gone very well. Outside the court, a little by a stressful week. I was reproduced with my truck.
“I miss some payments and they got my truck from my home this week. I’ve been quarreling to restore my truck. If you know me, that’s my baby. I’m excited to return it. I had to win some matches so I can pay it.”
Paul, who lives in Florida, revealed that he had paid $ 1,000 to secure the return of the vehicle, sending his coach to catch him while he fought in European clay.
Gauff sets Paolini’s final after zheng epic
The sinner will be the favorite to get out of their semi-final clash, and already has an Italian finalist at the women’s event with Jasmine Paolini defeating Peyton Stearns 7-5 6-1.
The sixth Paolini seed, who is seeking to become the first single home champion since 1985, fought from 5-3 down the first set, saving three points located before navigating the victory over its American opponent.
Paolini will face Coco Gauff in the final after the fourth victory of the fourth seed (3) 4-6 7-6 (4) to Qinwen Zheng in their last clash.
