India’s fast Bowler, Jasprit Bumhrah, has won the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Award for the Men’s Criketer in the ICC Awards, with the new Zealand Amelia Kerr taking the honor of women.
Bumhrah defeated England’s couple Joe Root and Harry Brook, as well as Australia’s Travis Head in price, and is the fifth recipient in history after Rahul Dravid (2004), Sachin Tendulkar (2010), Ravichandran Ashwin (2016) and Virat Kohli (2017 , 2018).
It comes as a recognition of Bumhrah’s extraordinary 2024, in which the 31-year-old prevailed opponents in the longest format as well as in the shortest forms of the game.
The Indian Pacer trigger the 71 Wickets Test in just 13 games, the highest from each player in 2024, easily beating Gus Atkinson, England (52) as the best.
Bumhrah claimed the series of honors in the last border-Gavascar series against Australia for his 32 stunning wickings across five tests, growing up at the top of the test game rankings and passing the elusive 900 points as he ended the year with A record -Breaking 907 – the highest for every Indian player in history.
It also became the fastest Indian Pace to reach 200 Wickets Test, reaching feat with an average below -20 Bowling (19.40) – the best in history.
Bumhrah also dominated the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup for 2024, running the winning campaign of India’s title after 17 years without winning the event. Its 15 victories came with an amazing average of 8.26 and an economy of only 4.17, making it the tournament player.
His impressive 2-18 of four overs, including large wicking of Reeza Hendricks and Marco Jansen in the final against South Africa, played an invaluable role in the India triumph in Bridgetown.
Comprehensive kiwis Kerr claims women’s crickets of the year
The versatile New Zealand Amelia Kerr has won the trophy Rachael Heyhoe Flint for the Women’s Women’s Criker, beating Laura Wolvardt South African, Chamari Atheapthhu of Sri Lanka and Annabel Sutherland in The Prestigiious Award.
Kerr is the first of the new Zealander who claims the price, which has twice gathered by Nat Sciver-Brrunt of England, Ellyse Perry of Australia and Smrit Merdhaa of India since it was created in 2017.
The 24-year-old is also the first kiwi to win every form of the general tricketer tricketer trophy of the year.
Kerr was a match player in the Women’s T20 World Cup final while Ferns White defeated South Africa, scoring 43 of 38 shipments and then taking 3-24, with her wicks including two of the first Proteas in Wolvaardt and Anneke Bosch.
She claimed 15 wickets during the tournament, mostly from a player to a single World Cup edition of the T20, eclipping 13 taken by Anya Shrubsole of England (2014) and Megan Schutt of Australia (2020).
