Liverpool restored their seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with a 2-1 win over Wolves in Anfield.

Luis Diaz joined the ball into the net early in the game and seemed to be a direct afternoon for the Premier League leaders when Mohamed Salah doubled the advantage for Arne Slot’s side from the penalty spot half of the time.

But Liverpool had denied a second penalty when it collapsed after a VAR check and when Matheus Cunha withdrew a goal back with a beautiful conclusion he made for a nerve final. However, the wolves could not find the equation it made Everton against League leaders on Wednesday.

The side of Vitor Pereira remains two clean points of the removal area and should be satisfied with an inspired screen. For Liverpool, all three points increase their superiority over Arsenal in seven as they prepare for Aston Villa on Wednesday evening.

Players’ ratings

Liverpool: Alisson (7), Alexander-Arnold (6), Conate (6), Van Dijk (6), Robertson (6), Gravenberch (6), Mac Allister (6), Szoboszlai (7), Salah (6), Jota (6), Diaz (8).

Used Subject: Quensah (6), Bradley (6), Nunez (6), Endo (6).

Wolf: In (5), Dohety (6) (6), Toti (6), Semed (6), J 8), Gudes (5).

Used Subject: Munetsi (6), Bell Guard (6), Bueno (6), Doyle (N/A), Lima (N/A).

Match player: Luis Diaz.

Liverpool nervous afternoon

Liverpool was seconds away from taking a nine -point lead at the top of the Premier League table when James Tarkowski intervened late in Goodison Park on Wednesday evening, but began their advantage over Arsenal it crashed into only four.

Beaten by Plymouth Argyle in the Armed Forces Cup then so dramatically held against Everton at the Merseyside derby, Liverpool had to respond with three points to this before the complicated trips to Aston Villa and Manchester City next week.

The wolves, who entered this game after winning back-back games without accepting, certainly helped them. The first goal presented good work from Diogo Jota, making his first start of the Premier League since October against his former club, but was upset.

Salah’s touch was loose, but Gomes Toti could only divert the ball into the Diaz path that defeated Jose as Onrushing in the ball. The Colombian did the same to win the penalty for the second, Salah scored from the country to put Liverpool in full control.

But their despair of victory was evident in the closing stages, the end of the left class of Cunha giving the wolves the purpose of their performance. Andrew Robertson felt compelled to encourage the dill to be calm toward the end and almost kept Liverpool.

Team news titles

  • Cody Gakpo left Liverpool’s squad after a knock on Goodison Park and was replaced by DioGo Jota. Trent Alexander-Arnold entered Conor Bradley in the only change.
  • Wolves made five changes from the FA Cup victory over Blackburn but only one on the side that defeated Aston Villa with Joao Gomes returning from the suspension instead of Jean-Rricner Belgarde.

Reds shot

This was the first time in the record (from 2003-04) that Liverpool failed to try a blow in the second half of a Premier League match in Anfield. In fact, it was the first time in this time that Reds went a whole half of football without trying a blow to a league match at home.

Robertson: Everyone gets nervous

Liverpool defense counsel Andrew Robertson Talking to talk Heavenly:

“We just managed to dig deep. Two-nil in half time, this can be one of the most dangerous results in football. We had to go out and start well and didn’t do it well.

“The second half was a slogan, maybe playing Wednesday and pulled it out of some of the boys. But it was to try to use the field experience and everything we have.

“When they scored, everyone gets nervous, the crowd gets nervous – but it’s a massive victory for us.

“I thought the wolves were the second half brilliant. They made some changes in half the time at 2-0 down and went a little more attackers with more players ahead in the main areas. This made it harder.

“But we have to be better in the ball. We know that the result is big, after Wednesday and losing to the Armed Cup, it’s important to go back to a winning belt. Hopefully this may be the beginning of one. ”

Redknapp: long way to go

Sky Sports’ Jamie Redknapp:

“It was not quiet. I would go down to the previous two results. Everton’s goal where they scored late and the Plymouth outcome that overthrew them from their rhythm.

“Even at 2-0. I felt it half the time, it was still a complicated 45 minutes ahead. They managed to continue.

“Liverpool only had to get three points. It was a great victory for them, he keeps Arsenal in wing opportunities. But there is a long and long way to go. Many turns and twists to come.”

The essential block of Quensah … as happened

88: Big Block! The wolf denied!

Cunha tries beyond the field and feeds doyle to the right of the area.

The midfielder does the right thing and the squares in Munetsi in the middle of the box.

There is Quensah to set a stunning solution to prevent a certain draw!

Slot: You also need victory like this

Liverpool chief Slot Talking to talk Heavenly:

“As big as everyone else, but that too is great. I said in the dressing room that you maybe you would be a little disappointed because it wasn’t the second best half. But we fight to the end. We We need Ali at an important moment and blocked a free kick in a promising position.

“But in a season where you want to achieve something, no matter what you want to achieve, you need to have wins like this too. Two weeks ago, we played fantastic football when Rrahim Spurs 4-0 is in One season. But it wins as this should also be in a season like this.

“It’s never the game plan, not to create anything! We’ve had some promising situations, but one of them was not allowed for offsides, one of them was a penalty overturned by the var. We were not so far from a threat purpose in the second part.

“If this is what is needed to win a game, then I’m happy to see these players can do it too.

Liverpool chief Arne Slot admits it is the first time he has seen his players look tired

“You always wonder if it comes from the direction of many mental exhaustion after all the events that happened in the last match and the last eight minutes against Everton. Again, today we were tested mentally. We thought we had the third, we thought we were like punishment for the third – both were treated correctly by the judge.

“It was probably the first time this season that the players were tired than they were in other games.”

Pereira: Wolves showed a lot of respect of Liverpool

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira believes his team showed much respect to Liverpool

Slot replaced Ibrahima contes in half time, no doubt careful about the possibility that the protector could be sent out. The contes avoided a second yellow card after a collision with cunha in the first half. Pereira admitted that he was frustrated by the decision.

“Yes of course,” he said Heavenlywhen asked. “The second yellow card, the red card, less a player, maybe it would be another game. But I’m not a judge. I’m not there to decide. But after all, I’m very happy and Proud of my players in the second half.

“We can’t play again as we played in the first part. I don’t care if it’s against Liverpool or another team, it’s about my team. I want to see identity, personality, courage to play our way – Not to come here and make a holiday.

“The second half was fantastic, what I remember from the second half is Liverpool had many problems, a lot of difficulty to stop us. If we score the second goal, it was the right result.”
