Sandy Ryan insists she is happy for Mikaela Mayer to ‘continue to talk’ about their coaching dispute, but plans to silence her American rival in their split.
Derby’s boxer will try to recover the WBO Welterweight title in her second fight against Mayer in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning, Live in Sky Sports.
Mayer reacted angrily after her coach Kay Koroma changed loyalty to working with Ryan, which meant that Mayer recruited Kofi Januah in her corner team along with Al Mitchell.
“Everyone’s reaction is not my reaction,” Ryan Sky Sports told. “I will simply allow her to react, she continues to talk about the coaching situation.
“But it’s what she is, she has her coach and she seems to be very happy with the coach. So I don’t know why she continues to mention Kay’s name to be honest.
“Let’s go on with it and fight.”
Ryan was sprinkled with red paint as she left her hotel just hours before her first war in the world against Mayer, which ended up in a majority decisions for America in Madison Square Garden in New York in September.
“I think Sandy has a very poor mentality. I think it upside down a lot, it emphasizes a lot,” Mayer said.
“The way she reacted to the paint things and getting a photo shoot and everything, I can say she is easily lit. That’s not good. At the end of the day, this sport is all mental, so you have to have your head right.
“I really didn’t say anything that wasn’t true. I just hit it with some facts and if it ignites it, then she knows why, because it’s the truth.”
Ryan retaliated for her previous loss to Erica Anabella Faria in a match and is convinced that she will retaliate exactly over Mayer.
“You really can’t say, but I don’t think it can do anything different from what it has already shown, while I can do something different,” Ryan said.
“It will be another war, but I don’t think it will bring anything new to the table.
“How will Fight Night Night play? I becoming a world champion again.”
