Mohamed Salah is approaching the signing of a new contract with Liverpool as the talks are progressing well.
The situation is the same for Captain Virgil Van Dijk, who has also shown that there was “progress” in discussions on a long -awaited new deal to keep it in Liverpool.
Salah and Van Dijk have made it clear that they remain in Anfield is their advantage and it is understood that there has finally had a progress after a long negotiation process.
Despite the contracts of the two players ending this summer, Liverpool has always been sure that the pair would engage in the club.
Salah, 32, has contributed 27 goals and 17 assists in 31 Premier League matches so far this season to help Arne Slot’s side in a lead of 11 points over Arsenal at the top of the table.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are believed to be progressing in talks on the signature of Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnoldwhose agreement in Anfield also expires in late June – and its preference is to join the Laliga club.
Madrid are sure to conclude an agreement for Alexander-Arnold and they are forced to communicate with Liverpool when an agreement is reached.
However, the situation of international England will have no impact on what happens to Salah and Van Dijk, with all the contract offers drafted in individual merit, data and circumstances.
And the optimism is very strong that the pair will remain in Liverpool beyond summer.
‘A progress has finally been reached with Salah Set to sign two-year deal’
Sky Sports News Senior Melissa Reddy:
“This is the news that all Liverpool fans had hoped as Mo Salah is closed in a new deal after very long negotiations.
“It is expected to be a two-year deal, which is the same situation with Virgil Van Dijk, who came out over the weekend to say he had progressed with talks.
“Last month we reported that Liverpool was extremely sure that both players would extend their commitment to the club, while both players also made it clear that their preference was to stay in Anfield.
“So it was everything to reach the scene where a compromise and a progress can be achieved and we are finally at that point.”
‘News all Liverpool fans have been waiting to hear’
Analysis by Richard Morgan Sky Sports’:
That is, potentially, news that all Liverpool supporters wanted to hear as this long transfer saga seems to finally retire.
Fans of Liverpool have been here before, in the summer of 2022 when Salah’s contract in Anfield had only 12 months left to run, before July, forward, forward, put the pen on paper for a new three-year deal.
However, with that contract now passing just over two months before it expires, and seemingly no progress in talks on the horizon, Salah Reds’ glorious career was approaching.
“I don’t see any of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk signing in Liverpool,” Paul Merson said recently. “I would be quite shocked if all three were to stay from here.”
But now, finally, after months of extended negotiations, it seems that there has been a progress between the two parties that will extend the eight -year stay of Salah in Merseyside who has seen the score ahead of 243 goals in all competitions in just 394 games, the third more in the club’s history, while winning every possible trophy during that time.
