Charlotte Edvard has supported Nat Sciver-Brrunt to lead England ahead and insists that it was a clear choice to take over as the new team captain.
Sciver-Bru, who has been at maternity leave after the birth of her first child, follows Heather Knight as Skipper, having previously served as the vice president.
Knight left her post nine years in the wake of England’s 16-0 loss of England, with Sciver-Brunt taking the role of 259 appearances in all formats in her name.
“It was pretty straightforward. I was very sure it would be night,” Edvard said.
“She runs from the front in what she does, she has the full respect of the group, and what I have been most impressed with is her leading qualities.
“She’s very quiet, quite unbearable for one of the best players in the world. I will simply surrender her all day of match and she will do what you do best.
“Her team and she has to take this team ahead. She’s very excited.”
The sciver-brunt was named Criceter Women of ICC of the Year in 2022 and 2023 and is currently 3 in the ICC ODI filling ranking.
It is tasked with reigning England as they feed the wounds of an ashes campaign heavily reviewed.
“Losing 16-0 is not alone because they are not capable enough, is that Australia was better than us,” Edvard said.
“It was clear in winter. I call it the word” f “. But I have been so impressed by standards. They have worked hard in the post -grace period.”
Sciver-Brrunt time as the captain begins on May 21 with a series of white ball against West Indies, followed by five T20 and three ODI against India he visits.
Edvard also insisted that the ancestor of Sciver-Brunt Knight would still play an important role for England.
“It’s about me heather enjoying her cricket and focusing on her tightening. She is playing as I have ever seen it,” Edvard said.
“We’ve had some good conversations about where I see her role in the team, and I also want to see her Bowling a little more.
“She has been great about the group, she continues well with Nat – they have been great friends for several years – and I really think we’ll see Heather Knight scoring a lot of runs over the next two years.”
