Ryan Searle secured his sixth protoour title with a pointed victory over Cameron Menzies in the player 4 championship after Michael Van Gerwen sat off the event on the house.
Searle produced a host of high quality screens on Autotron on his way to the final, where he threw Menzies 8-3 to become the first non-Premier League player to win a ranking title in 2025.
An entertainment of the first round over Florian Hempel was followed by compelling victories against Mensur Suljovic and Owen Bates, continuing his accusation with difficult victories against Irish couple Mickey Manssell and William O’Connor.
Searle came through a last foot decision maker at Edge Stefan Bellmont 7-6 in the semifinals, then converted eight of his 12 attempts in pairs to defeat Menzies in the final with an average of 100.7.
“I’ve played really well in practice, so to try it this week is fantastic,” Searle said. “Wining six PDC titles is amazing, especially when looking at the list of excellent players who never won a PDC title.
“Winning a six -year run title is a great achievement for me, and if I can win another this year, this will be another cross border.”
Van Gerwen decided not to compete in Tuesday’s event, one day from a loss of friend to amateur Michael Flynn in championship 3 players, with Luke Humphries, Luke Little and Gary Anderson among other tour card holders not in action .
As Searle defeated Menzies in the Dutch victory
Menzies launched the procedures with an excellent hit 145 – causing a sequence of four consecutive holdings – before the searle recorded the feet of 13 and 12 arrows to create a 4-2 buffer.
After holding back-back, Searle then pursued an important 110 murder with an excellent 100 finish to move on to the victory, which he sealed through his reliable peaks on foot 11.

Menzies enjoyed an advanced year in the PDC protoour in 2024, and Darts’ great trimester impressed him on the Dutch land to reach his third player championship final.
Scotland fought from 5-2 to deny Jose de Sousa in a dramatic first round tie, with menzies recording successive 6-3 wins on Stephen Bunting and James Wade while running in a competitive final.
