Atlanta Drive grabbed a 1-0 lead over New York in the best three TGL final after the last bird of Patrick Cantlay provided a 6-5 nail bitten victory on the opening leg.
Cantlay drained a flock of six meters before New York’s Xander Schauffle was lost from a similar string while his attempt left.
Atlanta will seek the inaugural title if they win the second tire on Tuesday night (11:00 am in the UK and Ireland), while the match will go to a third crucial match (1am on Wednesday) if New York Triumph in Game Two.
