Nico Echavarria claimed a play-off win at the Masters Par-3 competition in Augusta National, as Rory Mcilroy and Scottie Scheffler presented before the main opening of the year.
Echavarria and JJ Spaun recorded five birds each in their 22s without Bogey to end up at the top of the manager’s table on the annual event Wednesday, with both players who then exchanged pars in the first additional play-off hole.
The players went back to the ninth hole for the third time, where Echavarria fired his three -legged goal and made a winning bird like Spaun – who lost a play -off to Mcilroy in the players last month – had to choose for the second after a closing trick.
Echavarria-making his national debut in Augusta-now seeking to become the first player to win the Par-3 competition and masters in the same week, while three players fired holes in a memorable competition.
“It feels great,” Echavarria said. “We hope to change the tradition! We’ll see about it, but we’ve had an explosion there. It feels extraordinary.”
2023 The Par-3 Tom Hoge champion recorded a hole in one in the fourth hole, after Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley and the great winner five times Brooks Koepka both made aces in the sixth hole.
Tyrrell Hatton, England, ended a blow from the pace in the third, with former master champions Bubba Watson and Mark O’mera two tigers in the Too-Four, along with Davis Riley, Matt McCarty and Laurie Canter.
Former World No. 1 Justin Rose and Rasmus Hojgaard posted two under 25 to finish within 10 best, along with the US Open Bryson Dechambeau champion, with Sir Nick Faldo Part of the Group in one under.
Only 20 players scored an official total, with many in the fields that did not record their results as they left women, partners, friends, children and even grandchildren to take shots for them.
Mcilroy appeared along with his daughter Poppy, who received one of the most vocal acclaims of the day for Holing a long -range kick in the ninth hole, while Tommy Fleetwood Frankie’s son left the stitches after his impressive interview in Sky Sports.
The attention now turns to the tour itself, where Scheffler seems to become the first winner of the masters after Tiger Woods and Mcilroy has another opportunity to complete the Grand Slam career.
