The Premier League will have at least five teams in the next season champions league with England guaranteed one of the two points reserved for Europe’s best nations.
England currently sits at the top of the UEFA nation’s coefficient ranking for 2024/25, before Spain in the second and Italy in the third.
According to the new Champions League format, two group positions are given to better performance countries in Europe last season-which saw Italy and Germany gain an additional qualifying place for this season.

There are still five Premier League teams in Europe, rather than any other country. Italy has long been the only team capable of knocking England from the top two places in the coefficient ranking for 2024/25.
Serie A still has a representative in each of the Champions League, Europa League and League League – but after Arsenal’s victory over Real Madrid on Tuesday evening, even if all Inter, Lazio and Fiorentina win the relevant tours, it will not be enough to overthrow England’s advantage.
How are the coefficients calculated?
The coefficients of a country are calculated by the collective performance of its clubs in Europe in a specific season, divided by the number of clubs.
Each club wins two points for a win and one for a draw at each point from the group’s onwards – except for the play -offs in the Nokaout.
They are also given a number of bonus points depending on the conclusion of their league in the group stage of the Champions League, the Europa League or League League.
Clubs also earn points to reach every stage of the knockout of their respective tournament.
It means even if Arsenal, villa, Utd, Tottenham AND Chelsea Failure to win a single game in Europe for the rest of the season, England will win one of the two spaces available.
Premier League can still have a sixth place in the Champions League next season – something no country has ever achieved before – if one of them Utd OR Tottenham can win the Europa League and win the reserved place of qualification from that tournament.
