The world’s leading players have written four Grand Slam tournaments that require an adult income.
As first reported by the French newspaper TeamThe top 20 players from the men’s and women’s tour have sent a letter to Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open organizers.
The slice of the cash -given pie has been a constant control of players despite significant growth in recent years.
Last year the sampling champions in Wimbledon took 2.7 million Each each while the total pot was 50 million, double what All England Club gave in 2014.
But overall revenue has also increased and players often cite comparisons with other sports, especially basketball NBA, to show that they are missing.
Explaining why she signed the letter, American Emma Navarro, listed 11 years old, told Outlet online crackling: “I spoke a little with the other players about him and felt like it was a good idea to sign.
“And I think there has been some kind of unfair payroll ratios – I don’t know the exact terminology – in the past. And I think it’s a good cause to join as players and make sure we are treated fairly.”
The news comes just two weeks after the players’ body Professional Tennis Association began lawsuit in the United States, Europe and the United Kingdom against ATP, WTA, the International Tennis Federation and the International Tennis Integrity Agency.
PTPA, which was founded by Novak Djokovic, claimed “systemic abuse, anti-competitive practice and a fierce disrespect for the well-being of the players.”
