Luke Little was only 10 minutes to breeze in the second round of world masters Winmau on a night in which Jonny Clayton was amazed, Michael Van Gerwen displayed a new picture and Chris Dobey, Dave Chisnall and Gary Anderson were beaten.
World champion PDC Littler’s reign fell only one foot while involving 2023 WDF andy Bayents 3-0 to set up a last 16th collision with James Wade on Saturday after the latter defeated Mike de deker 3-2 In a difficult opening of the evening.
Littler was great in his doubles at the start of his clash clash, hitting his first four efforts before ending with a success rate of six of nine on the outer ring.
Nathan Asinall also impressed, scoring six doubles from eight and an extraordinary 161 end in bull while involving Andrew Gilding 3-0 to provide a confrontation with the invader of ChisNall Cameron Menzies, who defeated his out-of-one opponent 3- 1.
But the evening’s performance came from Clayton, which was on average 112.77 along the way to defeat Martin Schindler 3-1 in a high quality affair, winning a victory for Wales after the country’s union side was violated by France 43-0 in all six nations.
Clayton impresses while Van Den Bergh Beats Anderson
Clayton will take over Ryan Searle in the next round after the heavy metal without the world No. 10 Chris Domey 3-1, breaking Hollywood twice in the fourth set after the first nine legs in the match had all gone to the player throwing first .
Van Gerwen, meanwhile, was recovered by the loss of a glut of arrows to win the second set against qualification Bradley Brooks taking the other two to triumph 3-1 – while having a black and golden shirt, compared to green its usual.
The Dutchman, beaten by Little in the World Championship final a few weeks ago, wore a different color top to mark five years with his sponsors.
Van Gerwen will take over Dimitri Van Den Bergh after the latter withdrew from the loss of the first set in Anderson – in which he hits his result in the opening leg – to win six feet in a row and prevails 3- 1.
Van Den Bergh withdrew from the four 14th known on the trot before closing the match with a dense 13th.
