Amazon announced this week that Jennifer Salke is withdrawing as the head of Amazon MgM Studios-an action that may show high-level dissatisfaction with the company’s transmission strategy in recent years.

In other words, Amazon does not intend to fulfill the role of Salke. Instead, the heads of his film studio and TV report directly to Hopkins.
But reporting about Salke’s departure highlights the disappointments and challenges of Amazon’s broadcast under its leadership. Previously an NBC executor, Salke joined Amazon Studios in 2018, as the company was seeking to expand beyond critically praised and appears in the most common hits.
