After days of speculation that X owner Elon Musk was secretly posting under an account called Adrian Dittman, new evidence suggests that Dittman is, in fact, a real person living in Fiji.
Efforts to connect Dittman and Musk go back to at least 2023; Dittman frequently posts insults about Musk, and his voice (as heard on many X Spaces) sounds pretty similar.
But a story in The Spectator appears to have identified the real Dittman, the son of a German software entrepreneur who has set up multiple companies in Fiji. This Dittman was included in a Fijian government video of a recent warehouse opening.
The hacker and arsonist Mayan crime writer later took credit for working with Ryan Fae to track down Dittman. In a blog post, they offered more detailed evidence that the Dittman in Fiji is the Dittman in X — for one thing, the Dittman in the warehouse video appears to be wearing the same ring as the one featured in the many cooking videos Dittman has posted ( and deleted afterwards) in X.
Crimew wrote that the Spectator article was “not very good” and that the pair were “unhappy with the way our work was used without credit”.
