The Bluesky social network is drawing a new version of its software, which approves some of the features that former X users have lost. No, it’s not an editing button! Instead, the open social network is adding support for the reactions of conversations in the function of its direct messages and is rebuilding its search site as “Explore”, directing the users to trends, suggested accounts, initial packages and more.
Characteristics both receive inspiration from X, which has allowed users to respond to direct messages with an emoji since 2020. X expanded the feature a few years later, allowing users to choose each emoji beyond the predetermined group.
Bluesky is now offering the same thing, as users can now click on the emoji button next to a person’s message to add a reaction. In the initial show, a small part of the usual emotions such as hearts, fingers up, eyes, sad face and a smiling face are available. However, users can click on the three -point menu to select any other emoji as their reaction, similar to what they can do on X.
In particular, the Bluesky search site is becoming more useful with the new release, as it now helps connect users to what is tending to the network. A feature like this may not have had so much sense when Bluesky was smaller, but with a now considerable user base of over 34 million users, it is easier to distinguish the trends that appear among many platform discussions.
For example, some of the trends today are related to events in time, such as Trump’s tariffs and their influence, while others point to well -known Bluesky communities as readers in Bookky. The trends are also marked with labels as “new” or “hot” or how long ago they started trending, as “5h before”.

Moreover, the new explore site allows users to enter their interests to better personalize the content shown them in Bluesky. It also offers account suggestions to follow within different categories, such as art, sports, music, comics, politics, science, news, animals, books, video games and others.
Under this, the app suggests interesting starting packages – or curated user lists that newcomers can follow with one click – as well as suggestions of other custom -known sources, such as NFL+, which connects users with those who talk about American football in Bluesky.

Earlier this week, Bluesky Cto Paul Frazee credited Darrin Loeliger’s latest rent for the EXPLORE updated site, saying he showed the team “overthrowing a designer’s employment”.
Although smaller additions, these new updates can make former X users feel more comfortable when joining Bluesky, as they will have access to similar tools to engage with friends and discover discussions, people and interests.
