The new IQ Portfolio of Cadillac Vehicle of All Electric-Electricity-The Optiq SUV and Grandaddy compact Escalade IQ has placed the company in a more advanced and luxurious technical plane. And the change could not have come as soon as possible.
The part of the traditional vehicles of the internal combustion engine that have come out of Cadillac in recent years has not quite matched the levels of luxury and technology of its rivals.
Cadillac aims to change it with its debut of the Optiq SUV compact as well as IQ Escalade, which receive major oscillations in advanced technology and features. Most importantly, Cadillac gave these two distinct luxury personalities to try to call on different customers. Call it new and fun and old luxury money.
Cadillac allow me to lose in northern California over two days to drive OPTIQ SUV and Escalade IQ. Here’s how the newly newly accumulated.
Optiq SUV Youth
When I learned that engineers from Cadillac Blackwing my beloved had a hand at the Optiq intersection, I was immediately intrigued to see what 300 horsepower would feel and 354 pounds of torque at this intersection with all wheels in twisties.
It is pretty fun. Yes, they all have smooth distribution of energy and the ability to speed up quickly from the corners, but not everyone has the suspension to support it.
Dampers here get what Cadillac calls passive plus tuning. As it sings at high speeds, the car remains flat and durable, but can handle the broken sidewalk without bothering. Basically, it can react to slow and rapid events to ensure treatment that is sporty and comfortable, without complication of electronics. Of course, I will welcome a future V performance optiq with Magneride Damers for even more giggles, but for now Kid Hottrod in loves this.
If you have not carved a canyon in an EV before, it can be a little different than in a traditional vehicle, thanks to regenerative braking.
Optiq gives you the opportunity to turn it off and simply rely on mechanical brakes or keep them in normal for just a little slowdown when raising the drowning. I like the maximum regen as it adds another level of ability to remove the accelerator pedal at the right time. There is also a pool behind the steering wheel that can add regain braking even if the system is set for none. This can also add another element of skills for those seeking to experience their skills. The gamination of direction is said.
Escalade iq, yacht of electric land

Meanwhile, the experience of the car in IQ with three rows Escalade is pure comfortable goodness. Although sporting the most advanced magner moisture, they appear to mainly counter the brutal 9,000 -pound vehicle lid.
SUV with three rows of 700 horsepower SUV and 785 pound of torque are accessible only in a way called Velocity Max. Otherwise the SUV does due to 680 Poni and 615 papers of torque that go to all four wheels. This may sound like congestion, but this Zaftig child needs it. Anything less and would feel heavily supported.
IQ Escalade is about smooth and comfortable driving. The curves are easy thanks to a rear wheel drive system that makes the 136 -inch wheel base look much shorter. If you want to reach style, an arrival way allows Escalade to move diagonally to a parking spot. Just be careful about what is around you as it is easy to underestimate the angle.
Cadillac also gathered Escadale with luxury features and convenience. Press on the brake pedal and the doors are closed automatically. The vehicle also comes with hot seats and a massage function.
And then there is the advanced driver’s help system. Both vehicles receive the Cadillac SuperCruise standard that allows for 750,000 miles of hands.
The system can change the lane when the driver activates the turn signal or will make it itself in order to pass a slower motion machine. It was raining and pretty foggy as he overseeed at Escalade, and although the system hesitated during the execution of a lane and a comprehensive turn at the same time, there was no problem reading the lane signs through the fog.
There are many standard security features in both EV. Monitoring of blind spots, alarm of the collision forward and braking, lane keeping-all of these traits are here.
I particularly like the rear camera mirror on both vehicles that gives a wide -ranging view of what is happening behind the car. However, IQ Escalade goes a step further with the standard screen of activated turn signal cameras. Of course, monitoring the blind point is enough, but the video screen on the screen showing the two lanes adjacent to the two lanes is very sweet.
String, string and more string

Small optic has an 85 kWh battery with enough electrons for 302 miles of driving. The 400 volt system can accept a quick DC load of 150 kW, fast enough to take about 79 miles of range in 10 minutes.
However, IQ Escalade goes the gigantor with a 205 kWh battery with 460 miles of string. Like connected Hummer EV, Escalade battery is actually two 400 volts battery packages that can work in series or parallels, enabling a quick DC load up to 350 kW and the ability to earn 100 miles in 10 minutes. Both are on the CCS charging platform, but a Nacs adapter can be bought by Cadillac for $ 225.
For home charging, both EVs come standard with a 11.5 kW on board charger, but it can have a 19.2 kW system. This should enable about 36 miles per hour when loaded at home.
Two internal personalities

The interior of the optiq definitely skirts young people and hyper, with recycled materials, a clean look and some wonderful storage solutions.
There are 33 inches diagonal screen space and an AKG audio system with 19 speakers with Dolby atmosphere. The atmosphere is pretty dopy, with sounds that jump around the cabin in a way that satisfied even my left -handed ear, not to say anything to my right functional ear.
Meanwhile, IQ Escalade appeals to an older, more sophisticated crowd, but it still goes a lot in 55 -inch screen technology that extends across Dash. The passenger screen can play movies or browse online, all without disturbing the driver.
There is also a central screen below used for HVAC controls, switching to automatic door checks when the SUV is in the park. Two wireless charging pads for the front row are a beautiful touch. Unfortunately, Dolby ATH is not available here thanks to the development deadlines, but look for it in 2026.
Neither does the vehicle have Apple Carplay or Android Auto, instead of relying on Google integrated for maps and smartphone interaction.
While I like that Google Maps suggests charging stations and ratings left at the end of a trip, I had a difficult time to set google assistant to read my text messages. I never took it to work in Optiq and I had to have an engineer to stroll through him at Escalade, and even then it took some effort. After connecting my phone posted a notice when I received a text message and allowed a voice response to the text, but I had no time to see if it could put a call or play a podcast.
Disrupt the control book
Optiq is an EV of the entry level in the Cadillac portfolio, starting at $ 55,615 including $ 1,495 for the destination for luxury 1. However, monarch orange with black roof is only available in sports 1 and sports 2 and is worth the extra dollars.
IQ Escalade is another ball. Luxury Network 1 starts with nearly $ 130,000 including $ 2,290 per destination. All paint colors are available in all trims, but Midnight Steel Frost for $ 5,925 is a stupid. Most of which you can fall for a starting price is just over $ 150,000 for trim sport 2, which has beauty as second row seats, a 38 -speaking AKG sound system, second row massage, and second row executive package, as well as a thermical camera for Night Vision.
My time in Optiq left a positive impression – even if I am much older than the target demographic. Ways on the street of the car appeal to the exciting seeker in me.
Yes, Escalade is cute, but it is more of a way of life and the status marker, something that does not make me resurrected, if you are going to forgive the expression.
Despite, both offer some of the best technologies in this segment. Safety features are all standards such as supercruise and countless screens give both cabins a futuristic element. I’m not happy with the absence of Apple Carplay and Android Auto, but this is a wonder with those that are both unresolved vehicles.
