Duolingo ‘killed’ her mascot with a cybernetic, and is going strangely well

Duolingo’s Nuska, Duo The Owl, is dead. Okay, Duo is not really dead (we think), but the language learning app was so committed to this bit that its CEO, Luis von Ahn, read an eulogy about this beloved green bird in Tiktok.

As every author of the fabrication can tell you, killing everyone’s favorite character is not a great way to make people like you. And what is the purpose of the marketing of the unwanted starting of Duolingo if not to make people like the company so much that they will help generate that sweet, seductive shareholder value?

But Duolingo attracted this obviously cheeky stunt because the alleged cause of the death of Duo is so specifically weird.

“While I’m sure you’ve seen it so far, Duo was hit by a cybertruck,” Von Ahn said in the video. “And it seems that, in fact, every single character in Duolingo is dead.”

Since making this pronunciation, Duolingo’s monthly active Android users have been dropped 25% from year around the world, to the like, a digital market intelligence provider. SimilarWeb also said that global downloads on Android were thrown 38% the day after the campaign, and online searches increased by 58%.

“Death from Cybertruck” of Duos very well can be a distraction, but it gives people a way to channel their anger in the Empire of Elon Musk at a critical time.

While Musk’s Doe Shutters External Aid Programs, Consumer Protections and Global Health Initiatives, people are looking for a way to unknown the oligarchic impact of Tesla Mogul without subject to full exhaustion from what is happening.

On Monday, Duolingo launched a campaign to save Duo from a premature death – it’s “Duo or Die,” the company says.

By completing the lessons on Duolingo and keeping learning strips alive, users can get plenty of points within the Save Duo app. A website that marks the progress in the revival of this unclear green friend states that time is running out, but does not say that when time is over – apparently because they will simply revive the idiosyncratic buffet after the purpose meets.

Believe it or not, Duolingo probably does not want to destroy his very successful marketing wealth.

Duolingo aggressive agricultural tactics are certainly annoying to some users. If you are connected to another user in Duolingo, the owl can Narc in your friend and tell you that Charlie is back in his French teachings. But most startups are also using these over-the-top-ato marketing tactics are just a little less smart for this.

“His mission was clear,” CEO of Duolingo mourned in Tiktok. “Make education accessible, a terrible announcement at a time.”
