It’s been about six months since SNAP released the fifth generation of spectacles, its gold cups for developers, and the company is already improving its latest side with new lenses and features of the platform.
Snap announced Monday that it is starting the ability to create lenses focused on spectacles that knock GPS, new hand tracking skills and more. Now, developers can build lenses using GPS, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), COMPASS title, and custom sites, allowing them to use geo-places data and create things such as Walking courses.
The update is primarily aimed at improving experience based on spectacles.
SNAP displayed some examples that use new skills, such as Navigatar by Utopia Labs, who runs users with Snap Map tiles by displaying glowing arrows to help clothing achieve their destinations.
Other new features of the spectacle platform include the aforementioned hand -tracking skills, which detect grab gestures and when a user has a phone in their hands. Snap also now allows developers to easily add a steering chart to their lenses for competition -centered experiences.
Moreover, there is a new gold keyboard.
Spectacles are currently only accessible through the SNAP developer program, which costs $ 99 a month.
However, SNAP recently introduced a 50% discount for teachers and students, indicating that its long -term goal is to bring gold experiences for the masses, while also helping it compete with technology giants such as Apple, Google and Meta.
Alongside today’s announcement, SNAP revealed a series of challenges that will give $ 20,000 to spectacle developers who create the best 10 lenses each month. Called the “Challenges of the Spectacle Community”, the series begins on April 1.
