The fintech segment, which saw massive growth during the pandemic and immediately after, had a pretty rough 2024, ending with the sudden closure — and then surprise acquisition — of accounting startup Bench.
Although the rapid pace of funding has slowed, some fintechs are continuing to see growth and expand their teams. In an effort to better understand how many fintechs might fit into this category, a few months ago, I made a call looking for fintech companies that are hiring. After a little over an hour, I received more than a dozen responses. Over the course of a few days, I heard from more than 60 companies. The sheer number—and quality—of the responses was surprising even to me, someone who writes for this space regularly.
Revisiting this a few months later, I realized that while fintechs are still hiring, many of them don’t have as many open roles as they once did. However, there are still many open positions, and there are some companies that are even hiring more roles than they were a few months ago.
TechCrunch is not a job board, of course. This is not a list all of them roles available in fintech. But if you’re recently laid off, just graduated, or just looking for a change, this will be a good place to start. We will update this page regularly over time.
